The New 2015 Honda CR-V Offers Improved Fuel Economy and Tech Features

Upgrade Under the Hood

Two major changes under the hood make the CR-V even more efficient for 2015. First, the 2015 Honda CR-V gets a new engine. The new engine is the 2.4L four-cylinder Earth Dreams direct injection engine that also powers the 2015 Honda Accord. This high tech new engine makes 185 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque – that’s 10 percent more torque than the previous model.While this engine is both more powerful and more efficient than that of the outgoing model, the Honda CR-V also gets a new continuously variable transmission to help boost fuel economy even more. The EPA gives the new CR-V 29 mpg combined, with 27 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, when equipped with front wheel drive. All wheel drive, meanwhile, adds a bit of weight and drops the rating to 26 mpg city and 33 mpg highway.
